Direct messaging is a kind of communication between two individuals that is kept secret. The word “direct” means that it is not visible to anybody else; hence, it is private.
Also, keep in mind that you must be following a user in order to direct message them and messaging must be enabled in your Privacy settings.
You can easily change direct message settings by going to “Me” and then … (three dots) on the top right corner of your screen. Now you have to select “Privacy” and then “Who can send me direct messages“. Now you have to choose between “Everyone“, “Friends“, or “No one“.

Here are the steps to send Direct Message (DM):
Step 1: Log in to your TikTok account and then go to the user’s profile to whom you want to send a DM. At the bottom of the page, you’ll find an “Inbox” icon. After clicking on it, you will be sent to the activity page.
Step 2: You will see the icon for direct messaging at the top right corner of the screen. When you tap on it, you’ll be able to see a list of the people you’re following in TikTok.
Step 3: Now simply click on the person’s profile and you will be asked to compose your direct message. Just write your message and send it.
