In this article we will guide you how to clean your MacBook screen.

To clean your Macbook screen, use a microfiber cloth and a little water. Make sure that whatever cloth and water you’re using don’t contain any chemicals (like vinegar). Prolonged exposure to products like these can cause damage to the screen and optical drive.

Do not spray any type of liquid directly on your Macbook.

Do not use a microfiber cloth, paper towels or tissues that have been used to wipe the screen as these can scratch the surface. You might think you’re being economical by using an already dirty cloth, but in reality you are scratching up your screen and doing more harm than good.

Do not use glass cleaner on the screen as it contains alcohol, which can damage your Macbook’s surface or distort graphics.

No matter how tempting it might be, do not submerge any part of your Macbook in liquid ever. It needs to breathe and exposing it to liquid can cause permanent damage. If the liquid isn’t water, it can cause discoloration or degradation of the surface.

Do not use any liquid that contains ammonia as it will harm your Macbook’s inside components.

If you spill liquid on the keyboard, turn off the laptop and do not attempt to turn it back on until you’ve let it dry for at least 24 hours.

When cleaning the laptop, do not use too much pressure when brushing the surface of the Macbook. This can damage it. If you want to get rid of any dirt that’s on there, gently sweep it using a microfiber cloth before applying water or let is air dry overnight. Just make sure that whatever cloth or water you use doesn’t contain any chemicals.

Be sure to disconnect all peripherals such as your mouse, keyboard and speakers before cleaning your MacBook. Prolonged exposure to these devices can damage the ports of your Macbook.
