How to Clean Birkenstocks

Birkenstocks are sandals that consist of a shaped footbed and an upper made from leather or synthetic materials. The upper has a strap going over the top of the foot to connect the two parts.

First, make sure your sandals are clean. You can use a toothbrush to scrub any liquid spots off of the sandals.

If liquid spots aren’t a problem, make a liquid mixture by mixing 2 cups of warm water with 1 cup of vinegar into a bowl that is big enough for you to submerge your sandal into it.

Next, place your sandal in the liquid for about five minutes. Rinse with water and dry with a towel.

Use sandpaper to smooth out any parts of the Birkenstock that are bumpy. This will make your Birkenstocks look even more new and shiny.

This is a good time to add any embellishments such as studs, patches or paint to your sandals if you want to do so.

Finally, use a blow dryer to heat up and melt the strap. You can then mold it into place around your ankle. This step will make the sandals look even better and more customized.

So this is how you can clean your Birkenstocks and make them shiny and clean.
